Monica Diamond PT, MS, NCS, C/NDT

Monica Diamond is a neuro specialist with many years of experience treating individuals with neurological diagnoses including stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, brain injury, and other movement disorders. She is also experienced in prosthetic training, as well as recommendations and fitting for orthoses and splints for neurologically involved individuals.

Michael Bashford, PT

Michael Bashford specializes in pediatric and adult neurological rehabilitation, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, pain management and general orthopaedics. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from New York University.

“After collaborating with patients I assess their patterns and goals. From there, I work to restore their ease of motion and comfort with function.”

Jennifer Piala, DPT

Jenna Piala is a graduate of Marquette University with eight years of experience with patients with neurological diagnoses. Jenna is certified in LSVT BIG® for treating patient with Parkinson's disease. She also has experience treating patients with Multiple Sclerosis, spinal cord injury, brain injury and stroke.

Michelle McDermott, OTR

Michelle McDermott has been in the Sacred Heart/Ascension Columbia St. Mary system for 22 years. She has a variety of experience in UE orthopaedics, is certified in Lymphedema Therapy and has treated breast cancer patients. She has a certificate in Neuro Developmental Treatment, specializing in treating neurological conditions including stroke and brain injury.

Tracy Scholfield, OTR

Tracy Scholfield has served as a therapist at Sacred Heart Rehabilitation for 29 years, the last 10 specializing in brain injury. She is certified in Neuro Development Treatment training, driver’s evaluations and neuropsych testing. Tracy also specializes in spinal cord injury, Multiple Sclerosis and stroke. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Mount Mary University.

Renee Rettler, OTR

Renee Rettler is an Occupational Therapist who specializes in treating brain-injured adults in an outpatient setting. She also works with adults diagnosed with other neurological impairments such as Multiple Sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson's, and post-concussion syndrome. Renee is certified through the Neuro-Developmental Treatment Association, and performs driving evaluations on brain injured patients and individuals within the community. She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Wisconsin. Renee teaches as an adjunct faculty member at MATC in health sciences. Her approach to care is to help patients return to prior functional tasks using restorative and adaptive strategies.

Kristen Larson, SP

Since receiving her Masters of Science degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Kristen Larson has provided speech therapy services to a range of medically complex patients in a variety of settings, from home therapy, acute care, sub-acute, and now outpatient. Kristen is VitalStim certified to utilize neuromuscular electrical stimulation in the treatment of dysphagia. She is also a Dementia Care Specialist qualified to train family and caregivers strategies to communicate and manage the behaviors of patients in this growing population. Kristen now implements her training and clinical experience in cognitive-linguistic and dysphagia therapy as part of the BIDT team at Sacred Heart.

Kim Glaser, MS, CCC-SLP

Kim Glaser has been a speech-language pathologist for over 18 years specializing in adult neurological disorders. She evaluates and treats speech, language, cognitive, voice and swallowing impairments with experience completing video swallow studies for over 16 years. She received both her Bachelor's Degree in Education and Masters of Science Degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin Madison. She is a member of the American Speech Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech-language pathology. Kim is certified in the Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) Program which focuses on evaluation and treatment of voice disorders in Parkinson's disease and other neurological disorders.

Chris Block, PT

Chris Block specializes in orthopedics, pain management, spine care and therapy administration. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Creighton University. Dr. Block is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and an Advanced Credentialed Clinical Instructor. He is also a former Assistant Professor of Physical Therapy at the Medical College of Georgia and former Adjunct Professor of Physical Therapy at Marquette University.

Lucas Dieringer, PT

Lucas Dieringer treats a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. He has advanced training and practice in the areas of Vestibular and Lymphedema Therapy. Lucas earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biology and his Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Carroll University. He also serves as a Clinical Instructor for Doctor of Physical Therapy students as they complete their internships. Lucas is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist.

“I take a dedicated, one-to-one interactive approach with the patient that involves individual goal setting and personalized treatment. I utilize best practice guidelines in treating patients, which can include exercise, manual therapy, and modalities. My goal is to rehabilitate patients as efficiently as possible, returning them to their expected outcomes, and empowering them to continue to exercise and improve their health on a lifelong basis.”

Nicole Huvaere, PT

Nicole Huvaere is a physical therapist who is passionate about empowering individuals to take action in their own health through therapeutic exercise. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, and continued on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Sciences.

Lori Moss, PT

Lori Moss has a variety of specialty areas, including: orthopaedics, pain management, maternity, cancer patients who are deconditioned and have balance and gait deficits, sports medicine, TMJ/facial pain/headaches and chronic neurological patients with orthopedic deficits.

Pat Maglio, PTA

Pat Maglio has 25 years of experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, and all of them with Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s. He treats patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Pat specializes in orthopaedics, neurological rehabilitation, arthritis, general rehabilitation and pain management.

Mary Jo Jones, OTR

Mary C. Jones’s area of expertise is outpatient orthopedics of the upper extremity. She treats pain management, sports injury, and pre and post-surgical diagnosis of the upper extremity. Mary also performs functional capacity evaluations to assist doctors with patients who are applying for disability or need objective data to assist their patients in returning to work. Mary manages the work hardening program, assisting patients in increasing their overall strength and endurance to return to gainful employment once they have completed their outpatient therapy program, as well as performing  ergonomic evaluations to determine the needs for employees who are experiencing pain and discomfort from performing their job tasks.
