After Cancer

After cancer treatment, a diet containing a combination of fruits, vegetables, poultry, fish, low-fat dairy products and whole grains will make sure that your body is receiving the nutrients and vitamins it needs to return to good health.


  • Eat a variety of fruits and vegetables every day.
  • Avoid saturated and trans fats.
  • Choose whole grains like brown rice, whole wheat pasta and whole grain cereals.
  • Limit red meat and processed meats. Instead, opt for fish, lean meats, eggs, nuts, seeds and legumes.
  • Avoid or limit alcohol intake. 
  • Limit highly-refined foods and foods with added sugars like sugary drinks and sweets.
