Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Polly and Bill Van Dyke Cancer Centers' clinical trials portfolio includes therapeutic, supportive care, and observational trial, while currently exploring opportunities for prevention studies. We have partnerships with several organizations and pharmaceutical companies for clinical studies. In addition, we are committed to seeking new and enhanced research-related relationships or initiatives with National Cancer Institute-designated cancer centers and academic research institutes.

The Van Dyke Cancer Centers and its patients benefit from Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s strong research partnerships. We have agreements with the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center in Madison to serve as a Wisconsin Oncology Network affiliate for research and for sharing electronic images.

Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s has worked with the Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Control Program to hold colorectal cancer screening events. Also, we are an affiliate of the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group and a member of the Wisconsin Oncology Network and the Milwaukee Regional Cancer Care Network.

We’ve also greatly increased our participation in clinical trials and made a significant investment in the infrastructure of our oncology clinical research program, hiring three research coordinators and appointing two research medical directors. As a result, we currently enroll approximately 100 patients a year in trials and maintain a minimum of 30 open trials at all times. This renewed commitment to research enables us to provide our patients with the latest and best treatment options.
